In Dania Beach on Valentines Day something went horribly wrong. A female went to generally meet with her new boyfriend on Valentines Day at a local motel. They never had time for any "issues" to surface inside their relationship. She never seen what can happen next coming, and she never stood a chance.
Nobody ever expects this to take place to them, but this senseless death should shed some light of the very real dangers of domestic violence today.
People have to know the warning signs and heed them. It doesn't take months or years for a domestic violence situation to be deadly. Like this case, it may be the first incident that ends a life.
This new Florida couple united at the motel where Cadavid shot his girlfriend, Krizia Nunez, 22, of Aventura and then staged the scene to check such as a suicide.
Broward Sheriff's Office affiliate verified that, "Carlos Cadavid, shot his new girlfriend, whom he has only known for four days, then allegedly staged the crime scene to produce it seem like a suicide."
After he was finished with the murder and crime scene staging he called the Broward Sheriff's Office and reported the "staged version" of the incident.
It didn't take long for police force to notify homicide. The scene just didn't add up to the trained eye.
Broward County's Medical Examiner did rule her death as a homicide.
Cadavid later admitted that he killed his girlfriend of 4 days. He is subsequently faced with first-degree murder.
On Valentine's Day significantly more than $18 billion will be allocated to candy, flowers or jewelry, whereas significantly more than 2 times that amount will be allocated to the victims of domestic violence on this very day alone in a single form or another.
